SPORTS: Super Eagles Tackle Libya Today Over AFCON Qualifiers



The Super Eagles of Nigeria alongside the team's officials had landed in Tunisia for today's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match day 4 qualifiers against Libya.

The MaxAir Charter Airline that brought the team from Uyo, Akwa Ibom State touched down at the Sfax International Airport, Tunisia at approximately 1600 hours.

Rostrum gathered the Super Eagles was allowed to train at the match venue, Stade Taïeb Mhiri, yesterday in line with the regulations of Confederation of African Football.

The Stade Taïeb Mhiri has a capacity of 18,000 spectators and is the home stadium of Club Sportif Sfaxien, the CLP-1 team that pays the wages of Super Eagles midfielder Kingsley Sokari.

 

It would be recalled Nigeria thrashed the Libyan side 4-0 on match day 3 of the AFCON qualifiers on Saturday 13th October 2018, following a hat-trick from Odion Ighalo and Samuel Kalu's late goal.

Today's match will be officiated by Joshua Bondo from Botswana and begins at 1900 hours.
