The Mystery called Love

  THE MYSTERY CALLED LOVE
Brethren, I’ve come to a conclusion that everyone has suddenly become an analyst. Please don’t get me wrong. In essence, I actually meant that lately I’ve discovered that there are different kinds of analysts littered all over.
Based on my research so far, i’ve succeeded in finding out that we as well have the road side analysts. The question behind this discovery is; who’re the road-side analysts? If I must answer that question then I will simply say that, the road side analysts are those laymen found on every street across the globe discussing issues of the day. They are found all over the nooks and crannies. Go to any stationary vendor, you must find them. Even at the market arena, their presence is highly loaded. Above all; in a more professional mode, take a walk to any office close to you or in your neighbourhood, you shall witness the melodrama yourself.
To be honest, I’ve been coming across the aforementioned phenomenon for decades now but I’ve been granting it a deaf ear and as well blind eye with the false thought that it causes no harm to the people or the society at large. The area that brought my attention closely is that of love. Of late I discovered that, love which I tagged as a mystery has been greatly misunderstood or misused. To be candid, the road side love/emotion analysts have intensely abused the precious tool (love) which remains a mystery to mankind.
Lest I forget; please endeavour to access our facebook page, “Fancy Facts” and tender your reactions accordingly or any problem you would like us to solve either in camera or publicly. You can also suggest any topic of your choice you would like us to treat/analyze. Never mind the digression. Let’s ride on!
Barely four days ago, Thursday 11th of July precisely, a childhood friend of mine residing in Lagos State, Nigeria gave me a very remarkeable call in respect to “love” in the early morning of the day at about 6:04 am to be precise. As soon as I picked the call, after the exchange of pleasantaries that had to do with “hello” and “goodmorning pal”, the introductory speech from him reads, “Sorry for waking you up at this time of the day, but I’ve decided not to remain silent anymore”. Truly it was a shocking preamble but I remaind calm hoping to hear something of more tangible value, though I managed to exclaim “What’s the matter?” He proceeded by informing me that he had been betrayed by love. This time it was quite amusing though I kept to myself. He further told me that the lady whom he had made up his mind to settle down with just left him or had succeeded in walking out on his life. I also learnt from him that he has been dating the lady for three years now. And according to him, both parties were deeply in love to each other until lately when anomalies transpired. He tried to find out what actually prompted the plight to no avail till he finds himself in this mess. Still on the phone conversation; after a slight enquiry coupled with few  advices, I promised to get back to him in subsequent time.
But beloved, if we must get it right or if the truth must be told; in regard to the above scenario, what in the real sense made my friend to believed that the lady in question truly loved him as he presumed? This is a question we all must endeavour to ask ourselves whilst in any relationship irrespective of the nature of the affair. In addition, another question we are bound to ask ourselves is this; what actually makes you feel that you’re in love with your partner? Please try and unravel the puzzle.
I’ve said it time without number that one can’t just fall in love with someone. There are tangible ingredients that initiate love. An assumed love that was not initiated by distinct qualities is simply lust or in other words, infatuation. Suffice to say; the person being loved must possess some lovely or loveable qualities that would make his/her partner loving. There is no two ways about it.
To be frank, there are more attached to love than we preach. And if the truth must be said or if the factual fact must be stated, I’ll loudly say that we’re yet to understand the true meaning of love. Honestly love has no two interpretations; there’s only one interpretation (meaning) attached to love. And until we acknowledge this fact, we shall continue to encounter miseries and as well abuse this precious gift that was granted by God Himself.
According to the context of this edition, a mystery is something that is not understood or known about. Thus, since we’re yet to comprehend love’s origin, efficacy, mechanism and above all, its real essence here on earth, then it ought to be seen as a mystery to mankind. Think about it!

NIGERIAN DEMOCRACY

NIGERIAN DEMOCRACY AND ITS BUREAUCRATIC SETTING
It’s no longer news that even lecherous or randy men pose as saints. Moreso, I’m also of the view that most clerical messages or crusades could be mere bunch of deceits.
Maybe the above expression is a bit vague, thus let’s have it this way. Lately, I’ve come to realize that virtually everyone has suddenly turned fake thereby constituting fake products. I’m quite sure this observation is not personal, therefore I anticipate that others would dance to my tune.
Few nights ago, I hosted a guest whose visit was unannounced in my Owerri residence though I received a signal from him through a phone call barely few seconds prior to his arrival. The mode of the visit was not shocking to my person due to the nature of my activity as a humanitarian/activist. What was of paramount concern to me was the object of the unplanned visit. Honestly to my greatest amazement; unlike the young man in question, he began his speech with a remark that was of more socio-economic value. He told me with a soaring look that the Nigerian democracy would never grow as expected if it fails to desist from bureaucracy. He concluded by telling me that what prompted the observation was a political gathering he embraced before embarking on his trip to my place of residence. I won’t tell you what I told him. Nevertheless we’re here to discuss democracy coupled with bureaucracy. Let’s ride on!
Previously I have written on democracy coupled with technocracy which I tagged as a welcome phenomenon that ought to be emulated. Today on a different angle, our interest lies in democracy coupled with bureaucracy; I’m afraid, this may not be a worthwhile phenomenon as we presume.
Still on my usual definition; democracy is a system of government in which the people have a say in who should hold power and on how they ought to be governed. Whilst, bureaucracy can be defined as an excessively complicated administrative procedure.
Yes bureaucracy might favour me as a person, but that won’t stop me from publicly earning my view on the fact that same ingredient that could be beneficial to my individual self is harmful to our economy. Of course, the national interest is expected to supersede my individual/personal interest. Frankly speaking; taking Nigerian as a case study, bureaucracy has drastically done more harm than good to her economic status.
To start with; can someone kindly tell me the prime essence of having up to ten administrators in a certain section/department that can be comfortably handled by just two personnel. Above that, must every officer in our political sector be entitled to a Special Adviser (SA) talk more of having up to three or more SAs? The most devastating aspect of this is the issue of accommodating three or more ministers/officers as the case may be, in a certain position. Even at the National Assembly, what’s the need of having two different chambers? Well, I’m just thinking aloud!
I may have been sounding abstract so far; so let me come down to this level. To be candid, the various offices managed by the respective African states/nations, Nigerian in particular, are too crowded with inconsequential number of administrators/personnel yet we end up achieving little, or more pathetically nothing, at the end of the day. For crying out loud, it’s of no use littering our noble offices all in the name of “Share the money.” It’s deceit and such act is evil; and could kill since it’s targeted at maiming the innocent economy. I know most of us are ignorant of the nature of damage this kind of practice brings to us, that’s why I’m using this avenue to broaden our mindset.
There’s no need speaking further since the message has been sent, and as well understood as I presume. If more must be said in addition, then I would say we should kindly search our respective consciences in order to put to an end these fake practices being witnessed in our noble society. Enough of these losses and excesses. Think about it!

ANTI PEACE

       ANTI-PEACE: A SOCIETAL MISSILE!
Brethren, greetings to you all. Here I’m or we’re, again; ensuring to win more souls as usual just as we were directed to stride. I sincerely pray that today would be better, and greater too as we all are eagering waiting to embrace unquantifiable moment of euphoria or bonquets in our divine vineyards.
I wish to begin with some facts; so follow me. Nicholas James Vujicic (male), a Serbian Australian evangelist and motivational speaker born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by the absence of all four limbs has currently gained a global recognition in his day-to-day professional stride. In the same vein, Steven Wonder (male), a world renowned American sound producer and musical artiste was born totally blind. On the other hand, Bethany Meilani Hamilton (female), an American professional surfer known for surviving a shark attack in which her left arm was bitten off. And having overcomed the injury, amazingly she ultimately returned to professional surfing. Take note; surfing is the sporting/activity of riding on top of a big wave while standing/lying on a special board. Also, the last on my list but not the least; Lizzie Velasquez (female), a 23-year old notable author, inspirational orator, senior majoring in communications at Texas State University in San Marcos, U.S.A who has given more than two hundred (200) workshops on embracing uniqueness, dealing with bullies and overcoming obstacles was born with a medical condition so rare that just two other people in the whole world are thought to possess it. She has no adipose tissue and cannot create muscle, store energy or gain weight to an extent that she has zero percent body fat and weighs just sixty (60) pounds. When she was in high school, she was dubbed “The world’s ugliest woman” and in the comments on YouTube, viewers addressed her as “it” and “monster” and also encouraged/advised her to kill herself but on the contrary, she remained steadfast.
Apart from the above facts, there’re other more touching/devastating ones taking place across the globe; yet most of us whom are able-bodied still live in the past or are adamant about reality. Nevertheless, let’s ride on!
Our topic for today reads, “Anti peace” which I personally tagged as a societal missile. Let me commence with the concise definition of a missile based on the context of this edition. A missile is a weapon that moves for long distances through the air and explodes when it reaches its target. In a shorter text, a missile can also be expressed as anything that’s thrown as a weapon.
Few days ago while perusing one of the national dailies, I learnt that a certain young man killed his girl friend over her refusal to ‘make love’ or have sex with him. The other fateful day, I also came across another shocking news on the social media, facebook precisely which reads, “A man poisoned his wife over barrelness.” As if that was the end; the subsequent day I got a more embarrassing one still on social media that a man was caught having sex with a goat. Coupled with a similar piece which arrived at my humble desk that same day that a certain married woman in one of the countires abroad confessed that she deliberately decided not to make babies in her matrimony out of her personal pleasure while deceiving her husband that her misfortunes were mere miscarriages.
Apart from the above experiences or observations, millions of similar or more barbaric ones have been existing for ages, whilst thousands of them are likely to come up soonest. This wicked generation!
I put it up to you that the root cause of all these inimical and iniquitous occurences constituting anti-peace is nothing but selfishness. Yes, self-centredness which I’ve known to be a deadly societal canker has been longing to render our respective societies useless or incapacitated. Take a look at the various sectors; political, social, economic, educational and what have you, you will see for yourself that the aforementioned syndrome, anti peace which remains the sole product of human selfishness has almost ruined mankind’s divine progress here on earth.
Presently, almost everyone is concerned with his/her individual satisfaction. Nobody cares anymore how his talent or day-to-day stride would benefit his immediate surrounding or the people around him. If not, how can someone begotten by a woman ever dream of or imagine using his mother for ritual all in the name of ‘money making’?
What is actually happening to us; have we grown banannas or something; why can’t we use our respective talents to change the world for good; can’t we coexist as one indivisible element regardless of our place of origin, race, political affiliations, social and religious beliefs?
To be candid; if we’ve been sleeping, it’s high time we woke up else, these fathomless evil acts of ours shall pluck our two precious eyes in no distant time. For crying out loud, enough of this incessant bane. Think about it!
